Thank You Neighbors!
I am very honored to have received 14.6%, nearly 2000 votes in the Primary Election. I will continue to be active in our city and continue to be a voice for information and inclusion. The voters have inspired me to continue working on behalf of all citizens toward a common goal of a more open and transparent government that will operate with compassion for the residents.
I want to thank everyone who voted and made your voice heard and encourage everyone to talk with friends and neighbors to ensure we get even more voters out in the General Election. I will continue to work at ensuring that all voters know they can have a voice in Primary elections, regardless of their party affiliation. As a registered NPA, in the past I was also unsure of how my vote worked in the primaries, and now I know that the voices of the NPAs have the real potential to change the course of elections. I will remain an NPA, as I do not believe that one single party has all the right answers, I believe we need to work together as a community and use the best ideas, no matter where they come from.
The 14.6% of votes cast for me are not “My Votes”, they are not mine to give or direct in anyway. They are the voices of people who deserve to be heard. It is up to the remaining candidates to earn these votes and take nothing for granted. I support change in Deltona, I truly believe change is the way forward, and it is incumbent upon each voter to investigate all the options and choose the change they want to see.
I encourage residents to get involved outside of the election cycle, with groups like DeltonaStrong.org, a true non-partisan citizens action coalition that has already been successful in instigating change to the water department procedures in Deltona. This group needs the support of residents to continue to be a champion for what we know is right, regardless of party, election, seat, or office.
Thank you Deltona, for inspiring me to be a better person and work to better my community. I look forward to many more years year working beside each and every one of you.
I believe that citizen action groups like Deltona Strong will play an important role in our community.
I greatly appreciate the commitment of Deltona Strong to not being a political group, staying out of the election and focusing completely on solving local issues. They have made great strides with changes to policies in our water department, and they are just getting started.
